About Marie-Claude

 

 

 

Marie-Claude Rioux is a self-taught artist born in 1992 in Grand-Falls, but now lives in Edmundston, New-Brunswick. She got accepted in the fine arts program of the University of Ottawa after graduating form high school in 2010. She completed a semester, but after a change in interest, she decided to switch programs and universities to study social sciences at the University of Moncton concentrating on sociology, philosophy and psychology. After earning her bachelors degree, she gravitated back towards her first passion, visual arts. Her interest in psychology pushes her towards portraits and figurative art. She now tries to prefect her art working part time on commissions and creating original pieces that reflect psychosocial issues. She participated in her first group exhibition in March 2023.
